Minimum Prerequisite Skills for this class:
– Turn on your sewing machine, thread your machine and wind your bobbin.
– Sew forward and backward in a straight line.
– Select a zigzag stitch and a straight stitch on your sewing machine.
– Have sewn simple projects, like a tote bag, pillow, or curtains.
You may even already be very comfortable with sewing techniques, but you will still learn something new, get some new patterns, and enjoy our fun and supportive classroom setting to work on your children’s garments with other enthusiastic sewists.
Tuition is $250 + $20 pattern fee ($270 total for the 5-week course)
(You know, it’s okay too if you feel less than totally comfortable with your machine. If that’s the case, it is possible that this class will probably be a little frustrating for you, so we’d like to help you brush up on some basics before you sign up for our NEXT class in Spring of 2012.
If you’re not very familiar with your sewing machine, if it has a layer of dust on it, if it’s in a closet somewhere, if you are receiving a machine as a gift this season, or if you have one still in the box from years ago you think you’d like to try, you can sign up for a “First Date with your Sewing Machine” session with Karen on Jan. 16, 2012 from 6-9 p.m.)
